We all have our own truths. It is incredibly important to follow our own personal truths without allowing those around us to push us away from them. We all have our own paths and if we allow others to step in and redirect our actions, our thoughts, then who are we really. We become just a reflection, a receptacle of the characteristics of the people who we allow to influence us. Then what do we have to offer to the world? By truly following our hearts, our intuition, we take the path that our higher selves have forged for us. This is the path which will give us the most possible growth; the most fulfilling existence in this lifetime. “How few original thoughts or original actions are performed by the average person? Are not the majority of persons mere shadows and echoes of others having stronger wills or minds than themselves?” – The Kybalion
There will of course exist moments of insecurity, of self-doubt. These moments are tests. They exist as filters which only allow those who truly have faith, who have complete willingness to sacrifice everything for the completion of their destiny. Those who take these tests in stride will be rewarded over and over again. Things will just tend to “work out” for no apparent reason. Some would say lucky coincidence; but those who know the truth understand that every effect has a cause. Everything that happens throughout our existence happens due to some cause which preceded it. No matter how far removed from the current moment that cause is, there is some chain of causes and effects which have led up to the event in question. People who are highly connected to their higher selves tend to be “in the right place at the right time” over and over again. This is not coincidence, nothing is coincidence. This is synchronicity and the more connected you are to your higher self, the more synchronistic your life becomes. The more déjà vu you tend to experience. You tend to meet more and more people who are seeking the same truths as you who will end up being an asset for you in your path while you become an asset in theirs. You enter the spiral of life as things start to swirl faster and faster towards the truth of your existence, your own personal “Great Work.”
Your Great Work is your offering to the universe. It is your purpose for existence in this particular incarnation. You will be able to discover and accomplish your Great Work through sacrifice, surrender, faith and love. You are the only person who can figure out what your Great Work is. All the answers are within. You will certainly meet people along your path who will give you important guidance and wisdom to help you on your path of discovery and growth, but the ultimate discovery comes from within, as it already exists inside you. You know what the next best step is, you just have to listen. Once you take that first step in the right direction, the next step will eventually be known, so don’t worry about too many steps down the road. Concentrate on the step you are taking now, in this moment, and when the time comes to take the following step, you will know what to do.
“This is the Work. Start with yourself, end with all. Before man, beyond man, transformation” – Shah, Speaking of the Emerald Tablet
“Man can make no better use of his life than to sacrifice it, if necessary, for a high purpose; because this act will strengthen his own individuality, in which rests the power by which he is enabled to reappear in a new form.” – Franz Hartmann

True, the knowledge of one’s true path comes from within, but it helps so much to have a community of like-hearted people to encourage eachother. With all the expectations and pressure put on individuals by society, I personally feel it’s easy to get bogged down by things that don’t really matter and lose sight of my inner path. Thanks for reminding me.
Oh, it helps so much. It makes finding your own inner true path easier, I agree, I certainly seek relationships with people who I resonate with for that very reason. But there is also beauty in being in an environment of people who also think differently than you. Who can bring a completely opposite, yet not necessarily “wrong” way of looking at things that can help us grow as individuals just as much as someone who sees things the way we do. That being said, I personally have found a lot of growth through meditation because it does allow you to move away from the pressure put on individuals by society and into your own heart center, your own source of truth. Thanks so much for sharing Ariel, I feel you.
